The Indiana Self Storage Association was formed in August, 2004 in response to the growing legislative interest in the self storage industry. The association is currently managed by a mangement company that also manages the Illinois Self Storage Association. The Association will also be represented by a board of directors made up of storage owners and industry suppliers. This board will be appointed at the associations first membership meeting in January.
The association is committed to providing membership services and benefits that will assist members in growing their businesses. This web site will be fully interactive serving as our communication hub between the association and the industry at-large, as well as, a member-to-member platform to share ideas and solutions.
The ground work has been set, and now we need the support of the industry. We have already seen in other states what can happen when industry representation is limited with the passage of sales tax upon self storage. Other states laws on late fees or insurance provider licenses for self storage may soon be a reality here in Indiana. We need to strengthen our ranks now in order to be a voice for this industry.
Now is the time for all self storage owners to rally together under one banner of industry representation. ISSA Board of Directors
